The mission of the Coronado Historical Society is to encourage and promote the appreciation, knowledge and understanding of Coronado's unique art, architecture and history. The museum gallery has interesting exhibitions, and the store offers unique and distinctive gifts. We love the Wizard of Oz mementos. Frank Baum wrote some his "Oz" series at the Hotel del Coronado.

D.G. Wills Bookstore is a La Jolla institution. Wills has hosted some of the more notable literary readings and lectures in San Diego. The memorabilia covering the walls are a testament to its history. D.G. Wills is reminiscent of San Francisco's City Lights, but with its own unique local ambiance. Most important, the depth and eclectic mix of new and used books--many hard-to-find--and scholarly selections are worth the visit.
